Packing refers to small objects and loose items and doesn’t
include furniture. How much packing you do yourself depends entirely on the amount of time, money
and energy you want to spend. You can leave packing entirely to us, pack partially or pack
everything yourself. Most customers ask us to pack all artwork, lamps, electronics, breakables and
delicate objects. If you decide to hire us for all or part of your packing, be sure to identify
all of the items that need special care when you meet with your relocation consultant.
Ben Hur is committed to keeping your furniture safe. We fully
wrap all pieces with heavy-duty moving pads and place all glass, marble or delicate surfaces in
cardboard or wooden crates. When you meet with your relocation consultant, be sure to identify

Most clients leave the job of dismantling and reassembling
furniture for us. If you’d like to save time, you can take your furniture apart, and our
movers can reassemble it in your new location. When you meet with your relocation consultant, be

Most refrigerators, washers, dryers and other electrical or
mechanical appliances require special servicing to ensure safe transportation. Any moving parts,
such as motors on major appliances, washer drums or mechanical arms, should be securely fastened
for shipment. Gas appliances need to be serviced and disconnected prior to your move. Ask your
relocation consultant about servicing your appliances for moving.
If your new home isn’t ready, you can extend your stay
at your old location or store your belongings temporarily. Ben Hur provides safe and convenient
storage solutions—overnight, short term and long term. Your relocation consultant will work
with you to arrange storage that fits your needs perfectly.
- Exclusive-service moves: 100 percent of the moving fee is due on delivery. Payable by
credit card, certified check, money order, cashier's check or cash.
- Consolidated-service moves: 50 percent of the moving fee is due on pick-up. Payable
by credit card, certified check, money order, cashier's check or cash. The remaining balance
must be paid in full on delivery by certified check, money order or cashier's check.
Yes, but you should determine the type and level of protection.
There are two levels: Released Value (RV), a no-cost option that provides economical—but
minimal protection; and Full-Value Protection (FVP), a more comprehensive option with a cost based
on the value you place on your shipment. In addition to liability coverage, you can purchase
insurance from a third-party carrier. Your relocation consultant will be happy to explain all of
the coverage options.
Ben Hur knows that moving is a challenge—and that picking
a date can be the toughest part. If you need to change your date, just let your relocation consultant
know as soon as possible. We’re always ready to accommodate changes to your moving schedule.
