Licenses
- USDOT. All motor carriers involved in interstate operations must
be licensed by the United States Department of Transportation. Ben Hur’s USDOT

for-hire operations must have an operating authority number from the Federal Motor
Carrier Safety Administration, a DOT administration that regulates all interstate moves.

- NYS DOT. The New York State Department of Transportation licenses and

- AMSA. With more than 3,200 company members, the American Moving and Storage
Association is the nation’s largest organization of professional movers that provide interstate,
intrastate and local moving services. Ben Hur has been a member of AMSA since 1996. We’re listed
in AMSA’s Mover Referral Service and participate in the AMSA Dispute Settlement Program, a
federally approved arbitration program available to resolve customer disputes regarding loss and

The CMSA is a non-profit trade association that represents more than 450 licensed and insured movers
operating in California. CMSA members must be licensed and abide by a code of ethics that promises
